29 May Who are we?
We are…
- We are three seventh-graders who want to make a difference.
- We are the generation that will have to take action.
- We are fortunate enough to have access to masks. So we want to use that ability to help others.
Last Friday, we delivered 200 masks to two nursing homes. The masks came with positive messages like “Once you choose hope, anything is possible,” and “Not all heroes wear capes”. We believe that by creating and delivering masks with messages we can spread positivity and support, and we can bring strength to the people that benefit from it.
When we visited the Camillus House and the Ponce Plaza nursing home, we learned how severe this situation is for many people, and how it affects some people differently than others. For some people, the biggest problem that the virus poses is what might happen to their health. For others, the main problem is the financial impact. Having this in mind, it made us then think about all of the ways that we can contribute to this and many other causes.
